Qi Gong

Qi gong (pronounced chee gong) is a holistic movement therapy. The name refers to a practice (gong) of movements that affect, direct and harmonise the flow of qi (energy) in the body.

The movements and postures, combined with natural breathing and awareness, benefit both the body and mind, leading to bodily health, vitality and mental well-being.

The exercises can be varied -- some dynamic, some meditative-- but are easy to learn. The teacher ensures that each person is helped in a way that suits his/her needs. They are suitable for people of all ages and degrees of fitness.

The art of qi gong in China goes back at least 3,000 years and has therefore grown in a variety of ways. At Center, we work with therapeutic qi gong, which has developed over the centuries to become an important and integral branch of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

As well as ongoing courses, private sessions are also available. Simple daily movements and postures are used as a basis for helping you change poor posture and habits and to become more self-aware. Back and joint problems, muscle pains and stiffness, breathing difficulties and stress-related problems ease as you progress.
